Along with a new year, Mason and I have both been discussing goals, changes, and “new” in our lives.  We both desire to blog more and consistently.  In the past, I’ve been a diligent blogger, but when we moved to Keller, TX and chose to forego having internet for financial reasons, my blogging came to a screeching halt.  I have missed it.  Not that anyone other than my family or a few close friends reads my writing, but it is nice to have a place to not only document, but express what is going on in my life, now “our life”.  🙂

Just for fun, here’s one of the “new” changes we have made in our lives: *cringe* Assigned Chores.  Yes, it’s true.  Mason and I have assigned ourselves household chores.  This may sound juvenile to many of you, but we have found a home management system that works for us during this stage in life.  On certain days we each have 2-3 simple cleaning or tidying tasks to accomplish.  So far we have been doing them at the same time, and it has been rather pleasant and fun!  While cleaning, we’ve talked, laughed, shared our days, encouraged each other, and made plans.  At the end of our chore time, we sat down together to relax, made dinner, or prepared for whatever we had planned that evening.  The best part of all this is not the tidy home, though we have immensely enjoyed a pattern of “clean”, rather, we are thriving off of the closeness we have experienced doing this together.

Needless to say, Mason and I are loving this season of our marriage, and are both growing together in God’s truth–that is the best part, and the one thing that we both LOVE!  I am looking forward to sharing more of that in future blogs.
